This Client worked from home in a chaotic office space, and had the added difficulties of dealing with their dyslexia and ADHD. Both of these conditions made it particularly hard for them to work on a piece of work for any length of time, finalise it, and move on to the next piece. We only had a short time to work together.
Before – a desk space which was so cluttered, the Client had resorted to working on the dining
table
After – a clearer space with excess paperwork removed, and a more structured way of using desk
trays
“Sometimes we need a helping hand to get started – in my case with ADHD it’s even worse – and can get sidetracked from doing the boring jobs, and so need a ‘Clutter Buddy’. It’s no good thinking to yourself I’ll move those things upstairs and deal with them later, because you wont. Amanda helped me to got through the clutter of papers and other things in my office that shouldn’t have been there. In a a couple of hours we had shredded documents no longer needed, moved junk papers into the kerbside recycling bag, identified the documents I needed to deal with and filled a bag for the charity shop. Whilst I know I have still have more to work on – a second filing cabinet being one thing – I know I can contact Amanda for advice and guidance should I need it.”
